Mannum Fun Run/Walk 2012

After attracting more than 150 participants in last year’s event, the Mannum Fun Run/Walk will return again this year and is set for an early morning kick-off on Sunday, 16 December 2012.
This year Mid Murray OPAL has come on board as the major sponsor for the event, working with the newly established Mannum Fun Run/Walk Community Steering Committee to create a fun and active event that will continue to gain momentum and attract people of all ages across the Mid Murray community.
Last year’s event was a highlight for the Mannum community, and the Steering Committee is now hoping it can plan towards the fun run becoming an annual event on the local calendar.
This year’s event introduces different distances, including 3, 5 and 10 kilometres, which the group hopes will cater to people of all ages, abilities and fitness levels.
There has been great community support for this event, with Murray Lands APEX putting on a free healthy breakfast for all participants at the finish line, and the Mypolonga Scouts have come on board to volunteer their time for registrations and marshalling duties on the day!
Fun Run Details:
Date: Sunday, 16 December, 2012
Time: Registrations and sign-in from 8.15am; Warm-up from 8.45am; Race start 9am.
Where: Start and finish at Mary Ann Reserve, Mannum (near the Mannum Rowing Club).
Cost: Free – however there will be gold coin donation tins available for various charities on site.
Refreshments: A free healthy breakfast, water, tea and coffee facilities will be provided for all participants.
Distances: People can choose to walk the 3km or 5km track, or run the 5km or 10km track.
ALL AGES AND ABILITIES WELCOME!
Register: Registrations are open now, and forms can be found online at the link below. Alternatively you can pick one up from any of the Mid Murray Council Offices, or contact the Mid Murray OPAL team on 8659 0100 and we can post them out to you. The first 100 people to register prior to the event will receive a free gift to take home at the end of the event.
