Welcome to the Riverland, South Australia
The LIONS CLUB of BERRI and Riverland photographer Italo Vardaro have teamed up to produce their 7th Images of the Riverland Calendar 2014. The quality of images around the Riverland is amazing but your purchase goes directly towards assisting the incredible work of the LIONS CLUB of BERRI in the Riverland community.
The history behind the project is that it was conceived 8 years ago by the LIONS CLUB of BERRI with the primary aim of purchasing a 12 seater bus – altered to accept wheel chairs etc so that the residents of St Catherines Home for the Aged could go on outings. After the first 4 calendars we were able to raise $100,000 and we were able to give the residents the bus which they could not envisage would happen in their wildest dreams.
In 2012 the LIONS CLUB of BERRI provided the Riverland General Hospital with a portable ultrasound machine for the birthing unit $60,000 and in 2013 as a addition to the birthing unit ultrasound the club donated a Telemetry Foetal Monitor so that pregnant women could move around easily which historically they have never been able to do. Money has been put aside for a Chemotherapy Chair for the new Chemotherapy Unit at the Riverland General Hospital.
The LIONS CLUB of BERRI sincerely would like to thank their community, sponsors, media and sales outlets, and acknowledge the wonderful work of photographer Italo Vardaro and master printer Bill Vlemmix, without whom the project would not have been possible.LIONS CLUB of BERRI looks forward to producing the Images of the Riverland calendar for many years to come. Proceeds from future calendars will continue to be used for major projects to assist the Riverland community.
