Interstate touring routesAll roads can take you to the Riverland, whether you are travelling from Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne or Adelaide. Travel by carFrom Adelaide you can travel one hour and 50 minutes to Blanchetown, the Gateway to the Riverland by taking the Main North Road (A20) to Sturt Highway. From Victoria via Mildura you can take the Sturt Highway (A20), which will take you to Paringa in the Riverland. Travel by Coach/BusPremier Stateliner Coaches operates a regular service to towns in the Riverland from Adelaide Central Bus Station in Franklin Street. McCafferty’s Express Coaches operates from Adelaide and interstate. Travel by planeThe Riverland has airstrips in Loxton, Waikerie and Renmark for use by private and charter aircrafts. ClimateThe Riverland has a typical Mediterranean climate with dry summers and mild winters. The region is well known for its year-round sunshine; however, during the winter, spring and some autumn months you will experience cool nights and some chilly mornings. During summer it’s hot with plenty of sun. Temperatures vary from 27 to 47, so it’s recommended that you protect yourself by wearing sunscreen, a hat and carry lots of water.
