One Thursday a well known Channel 9 kids show celebrity ‘Nitro’ from The Shak, visited Mannum he was challenged by avid viewer to ‘canoe on a river’. The shows producers(in Qld) googled canoe and river and came up with the VisitMurraylands.com website and its canoe trails at Mannum and Murray Bridge on the Murray River and so a story was born.
The call went out at 4pm Wednesday, Chris from Breeze Holiday Hire generously donated Canoes and Dinghy and his time for filming of the segment, Mannum Caravan Park provided River frontage for launching and filming, The Murray River provided its great natural beauty and the sun shined. Shaun Farley generously donated his school day to paddle beside Nitro and speak to him about the river. Children staying at the park were able to meet their TV idol and The English family from Hamilton Victoria who were staying in the park on holidays then took the film crew for a trip further up river where more footage was shot. This segment will be aired in February and they were so impressed by what they saw they have said they will be back. The crew were impressed that it was all put together so quickly, Thanks to all involved.
