Morgan Community Revival
After a very successful meeting held at the Commercial Hotel last week, the business owners and members of the community have decided to mount ‘Go with the Flow’ campaign to assist the business owners and community to attract positive feedback to the area. The Murray River while having the highest flows since 1993, Morgan have decided to use this remarkable event as a positive and not a negative.
To this end Shane Strudwick from Discover Murray River has been engaged to come up with so strategies’ and ideas to make the town of Morgan and its business a cohesive unit to get the word out – Morgan is not flooded out and is still a great spot for skiing and holidaying, yabbying and fishing Shane will be holding a meeting for both business and the community next Monday 28th Feb at the Commercial Hotel. ALL WELCOME This is for the whole community! Please be supportive.
The idea is to encourage people to come to the river to experience the Murray and it’s unique beauty.
With water levels affecting some low lying outer areas the town and general area is experiencing a rebirth with the River Red gums receiving a boost, which has revitalized these magnificent trees and birdlife has increased tenfold since the high water. There is an amazing amount of frogs and other insect life abundant in the area which only encourages a better and healthier ecology.
Morgan, only a short drive from Adelaide and surrounding areas, now is a great chance to see the Murray in this unique state. Houseboats holidays are a great way to experience the Murray at this time of year. The campaign will be used through social media such as Twitter and Facebook to let people know how to access the Murray in a safe and enjoyable way.
