Become a Mallee Pioneer at the Pioneer Settlement

Situated on the picturesque banks of the Marraboor River, you can embrace the past with the feeling that you have stepped back in time at the Pioneer Settlement. From our 1850s Pioneer Cottages to Towaninnie Homestead to our Mallee Township you can wander at leisure in a bygone world experiencing real Australian history.

Whether riding in our recently restored vintage Dodge or in our horse drawn carriage; or having a break in the Paragon Cafe there’s so much to see and do that you will be pleased that the entry ticket includes a complimentary second day.

PS Pyap

Relax on the Mighty Murray River with an hour long cruise aboard the PS Pyap. The cruise departs from the Pioneer Settlement’s Wharf and travels upriver past the historic Murray Downs Homestead.

The Pyap has an on board kiosk which serves a selection of snacks and beverages.

Pyap River cruises depart daily at 2:30pm.

On weekends, public holidays and Victorian school holidays river cruises depart at 10:30am and 2:30pm.
