HOWLONG is perfectly located within the Corowa Shire only a short drive away from the Murray River towns of Corowa and Albury

Howlong currently has a population of 2,500 people which is steadily growing, with the cheap housing, beautiful town and river and the friendly country hospitality.

Howlong has one of the finest golf courses along the Murray, with many tourists coming to Howlong for the golf, fishing and water sports on the Murray River and after a good catch or water ski visitors can easily drive to the local wineries of Rutherglen Wine Region.

Visitors to HOWLONG have several choices of accommodation ranging from caravan parks, hotels,Bed and Breakfast and the Golf Club Motel. Howlong is very proud of it’s B&B’s with most taking pride of place in the town.

HOWLONG has abundant sporting facilities like the football oval, tennis courts, netball courts, the Pony Club, the Cricket Club, childrens playground, skate bowl, swimming pool, BBQ and Picnic areas. And host one leg of the Murray Masters PGA Tour in December each year.

Each May Howlong has the Mutts in May dog weekend hosted by the Lions Club of Howlong with dog shows, races and street stalls with the whole town and their dogs coming oput to show what they are made of.

The Howlong Community Resource Centre can help you with Tourst information with a variety of brouchers available free in store to help you decide what to do within the Shire a wonderful staff on hand to help you find what you need and to give you advice on the best places to visit. The Resource Centre also has internet access with computers on hand free to use, Nyree can also help you with any Shire business you might need help with such as paying fees or Corowa Shire Information.
